THE ORGANISATION

Developing facilities for primary and community healthcare

Renova is an award-winning public-private partnership organisation specialising in the development of primary care and community facilities.

As part of Fulcrum Group, Renova was preparing for a change in senior leadership responsibilities, creating an opportunity to develop the capabilities of its existing management team.

THE CHALLENGE

Preparing the leadership team for greater responsibility

Renova had established a strong reputation for developing primary care and community facilities through public-private partnerships.

When its Chief Executive moved into a wider role within Fulcrum Group, Renova needed its existing leadership team to take on greater responsibility and maintain the organisation's effectiveness.

The leadership priorities were to:

  • Build confidence across the existing leadership team.
  • Strengthen individual leadership capability.
  • Prepare managers to take on additional responsibilities.
  • Maintain organisational effectiveness during the transition.
  • Support the development of future senior leadership capacity.

The priority was to build leadership confidence, strengthen individual capability and prepare the team to operate effectively during the transition.

LEADERSHAPE'S APPROACH

Combining leadership workshops, coaching and LEIPA feedback

LeaderShape designed a tailored leadership development programme combining individual coaching, structured feedback and practical learning opportunities.

The programme included three leadership workshops and masterclasses, exploring emotional intelligence, coaching leadership and approaches to understanding workplace relationships and behaviours.

Turning leadership insight into practical development

Participants completed the LeaderShape Emotional Intelligence Profile Assessment (LEIPA), a 360-degree feedback assessment designed to provide insight into leadership behaviours and development opportunities. Individual feedback and coaching helped participants turn these insights into practical action.

The leadership development programme

01. Leadership Workshops

Three workshops and masterclasses explored emotional intelligence, coaching leadership and workplace relationships and behaviours.

02. LEIPA 360-Degree Assessment

Participants completed LEIPA assessments to gain insight into their leadership behaviours, strengths and development opportunities.

03. Individual LEIPA Feedback

Each participant received a two-hour feedback session to understand their results and develop a personal action plan.

04. Coaching and Action Learning

One-to-one coaching and action learning sets provided opportunities to reflect, share experiences and apply learning to real leadership challenges.

EMBEDDING DEVELOPMENT

Applying leadership learning to everyday responsibilities

The programme went beyond providing leadership knowledge. Through individual feedback, coaching and action learning, participants were encouraged to apply their learning to real situations within Renova.

This combination of structured development and practical application supported the team's ability to respond to changing responsibilities.

Strengthening the foundations for leadership continuity

  • Greater awareness of individual leadership behaviours.
  • Improved confidence in taking on new responsibilities.
  • Practical opportunities to develop leadership skills.
  • Support for collaboration and shared learning.
  • Stronger preparation for leadership transition.

THE OUTCOMES

Greater confidence and a successful leadership transition

Improved Leadership Confidence

The programme received positive feedback and helped Renova's leadership team develop greater confidence in its ability to take on additional responsibilities.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Developing leadership capability beyond the senior team

Sustainable organisational performance depends on developing leadership capability throughout an organisation, not just at the top. By investing in self-awareness, confidence and practical leadership skills, organisations can prepare their teams to respond effectively to change and take on new responsibilities.
