LeaderShape attended Tomorrow’s Company Reception at the House of Lords.

Peter Lewis, LeaderShape in discussion with Lord Haskel. This prestige gathering of business leaders, including representatives from IBM, John Lewis, HSBC, KPMG, AXA, BP and British Airways, celebrated the ongoing work of Tomorrow’s Company and the publication of two new Reports in 2008; Tomorrow’s Global Company and Tomorrow’s Owners – Stewardship.

Associate Directors of LeaderShape Su Kingsley and Peter Lewis heard distinguished speakers from China and India explain the growing roles each country continues to play in world markets. The emphasis on environmental, social and governance issues by Rajeev Dubey of Mahindra was especially enlightening and a wake-up call to Western businesses. The opportunity to exchange ideas with so many high level leaders was also fascinating.

LeaderShape has a close working relationship and is a corporate sponsor of Tomorrow’s Company. The two organisations have shared core beliefs that business must address the needs of every stakeholder and that executive leadership teams have a moral duty to share its outputs with civil society in an ethical and sustainable way.

Chairman of the New Oxfordshire Learning & Skills Partnership.

John Knights has been appointed Chairman of the New Oxfordshire Learning & Skills Partnership. The Partnership will address the distinct needs of improving:

  • The output of the education system.
  • The impact of workforce development.
  • The capability of those not in employment.
  • Health and well being and the support for those with disabilities into the work place.

In pursuit of creating / maintaining a world class economy in Oxfordshire, the vision for the Oxfordshire Economic Partnership (of which John is a Director representing the Institute of Directors), the OLSP aims to provide the learning infrastructure necessary to deliver highly skilled and motivated people who can make a contribution to their communities in whatever field of endeavour they choose.

The partnership is about joining up the thinking in education, business and health by focusing on an inclusive shared vision of a successful balanced economy. This aspiration can best be realised through bringing together the individuals and organisations that have the drive to tear down the silos and work together to create a strategy for developing people who can achieve more than their obvious potential.

John stated, “The success of this venture ultimately depends on changing the attitudes and behaviours throughout society; from young school children to organisational leaders. It is about developing emotional as well as rational intelligence and bringing to the surface the good values that people have within them.”

LeaderShape support tomorrow's business LeadersLeaderShape has made a donation to Save the Children on behalf of all our clients and friends, rather than send Seasonal Greetings cards.

Large classes and a lack of resources mean that schools in poor countries don't have all they need to give their students the best education.

This year we have purchased all the basic equipment like pens, paper, and books to supply two such schools for a full year.
